Florence C. Robertson

Robertson, Florence (Flo) Chapman, age 81, of South Knoxville, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011. She was a member of Lake Forest Presbyterian Church. Prior to her retirement from the University of Tennessee, Mrs. Robertson also worked at Union Carbide, Knox County Schools and as a self-employed medical transcriptionist. She graduated from Palestine High School in 1948 and received her B.A. in English from the University of Tennessee in 1988. Preceded in death by husband, Ernest (Ernie) Bryan Robertson, Jr. They were married on July 7, 1950 in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Robertson is also preceded in death by her daughter, Shelley Jean Robertson; siblings, Mildred Chapman, Roy Chapman, Earl Chapman, John Chapman and Dorothy Magee. She is survived by her son, E. Bryan Robertson, III and wife, Tina Koontz; daughter, Gail Robertson and husband, Joe Messer; grandchildren, Savannah Kyl Robertson, E. Bryan Robertson IV, and Reid Taylor Robertson. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, Minister Jean Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm prior to the service.Family and friends will meet for the inurnment service at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 9:30am.
