

Kimball, Floyd Edward, Jr. – 79, of Strawberry Plains passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. Floyd was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church and a member of the North American Rail Car Operators Association (NARCOA). He was also a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army who served in the Korean War. Floyd graduated with a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering from Clemson University and retired from TVA Flood Control. Mr. Kimball was preceded in death by parents, Floyd Edward, Sr. and Naomi (Lipford) Kimball; and son, Floyd Edward III. Survivors include wife of 55 years, Mary Lou (Chamberlain) Kimball; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and John Alvanos; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Kelly Kimball; 8 grandchildren: Christina, Simone, Michelle, Brent, Julie, Sydney, Cole and Bailey; and 2 great grandchildren, Landon and Maddie. The family will receive friends at Macedonia United Methodist on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 from 12-2pm. The funeral service will follow at 2pm with Rev. Edd Templeton officiating. An interment service with military honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Macedonia UMC, 4630 Holston Drive, Knoxville, TN 37914.
