Gary Vincent Deutschmann Sr.

Gary Vincent Deutschmann, Sr. age 75, of Knoxville, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 9, 2023. Gary was a Christian and loved the Lord. He was a 1966 graduate of Kirkwood High School

He was the owner of RAIAR Reef And Invert Aquarium Resources and also developed AZ-NO3 (Absolute Zero - Nitrates) removes nitrates from Reef Aquaria, owner of SCS Handymenders the pioneers in custom built Closet Organization Systems, CEO Classic Haus Limited LC, owner Wonder Plants hydroponics, Manager of Geo F Deutschmann Inc GFD (The Wayside Florist) was a family owned horticultural operation. In 1913 his grandfather changed the name from 'The Wayside Market' to 'The Wayside Florist'. Being a family business, he worked there most of his life. Gary was also a draftsman with McDonnell Douglas, he worked on the design of Gemini 12, the flood gates in St Louis, MO, and many other projects. He enjoyed studying his Bible, working jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, loved doing anything on the computer, and enjoyed being a amatur ham radio operator, he had a passion for writing and was a ghost writer for Harlequin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Mary "Dutch" Deutschmann; and sister, Linda.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Debi Deutschmann; son Gary V. Deutschmann, Jr.; daughter Melanie Deutschmann; grandchildren, Ava, Vince, Alyssa, Ariel, and Elijah; brother, Alan Deutschmann; sister, Julie Eckert (Chris); and several step children and many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed my his faithful companions; his dog, Moky Jo and his parrot Moocher.

A celebration of Gary's life be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023 beginning at 1:30 PM with the committal service to follow at 3:00PM Berry Highland South, 9010 SIMPSON RD, KNOXVILLE, TN 37920.
