Gary Eugene Knecht

Gary Eugene Knecht, age 76 of Corryton, Tennessee went to be with his Lord on Wednesday July 22, 2026, in his home. He was born in Mansfield Ohio on January 8th, 1950, to the late Harold & Ellouise Finley Knecht.

Gary served in the Army with Honorable discharge as a MP during the years 1969-1971. He was known for his love of the Cleveland Guardians baseball team, and the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns football teams. He was known for his strong passion for the military.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Cheryle Kaye Au Knecht of 57 years; Son, Jeremy (Danielle) Knecht of Belleville, Ohio; Daughter, Jennifer (Gary) Collins of Corryton, Tennessee, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather to honor the life of Gary at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Gov. John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 12:30pm, where full military honors will be rendered.
