Gary Glenn Loftis
August 16, 1955 – August 13, 2018
Gary Glenn Loftis went to his heavenly home on August 13, 2018 peacefully at his home. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in Jesus supported him in sickness and ultimately gave him peace. Gary was born to the late Charles and Gladys Loftis in Knoxville, TN on August 16, 1955. Gary was blessed with a large and loving family. He married the love of his life, Deborah Sue Pitts, September 8, 1973. Gary was a kind and stubborn man. He always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. He loved spending time with his family at the lake or camping. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator and reunited with the love of his life. Gary is survived by his two loving daughters, Amanda Wilshire and Hope Meridieth; son-in-law's Terry Wilshire and Jason Meridieth; his grandchildren, Lauren Ward (spouse Michael), Melody Wilshire, Caden Meridieth, Emma Wilshire, Libbie Meridieth; his great grandchildren, Aiden Ward, and Benjamin Ward. He is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Loftis; his parents; and his father- in- law, Thomas Pitts. The family gratefully declines flowers and donations, but prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted. Online condolences may be made at www.berryhighlandwest.com

My condolences to your families. I worked with Gary at the White Store Market Square in 1974. He was a very funny and kind person. I have wondered many, many times over the years where he was and how he was doing. I often remembered how sad it was when his wife was sick. I am sad I did not find him to say hello before he went to heaven. He is in the best place imaginable now and at peace. Prayers for your families.
