

McLin, Gene age 88 of Seymour, TN passed away in his sleep Saturday, September 19, 2015 after working in the yard, an activity he enjoyed frequently. He was commonly known to spend his time on the computer tracing genealogy not only for his family, but also for his friends. He served in WWII as a radioman third class and upon his honorable discharge; he went on to pursue and receive his bachelor’s degree and followed his love of radio. Gene eventually went to work for Magnavox in Fort Wayne, IN, after having met and married Sylvia Anna Morrill and having two children, Joseph Allen and Linda Jean. His career brought him to the East TN area where they resided in Seymour. He and his wife enjoyed a lovely retirement. Gene is preceded in death by his loving wife of almost sixty years, Sylvia; brother, John H. “Bud”; sister, Polly; parents, Ola and John H. McLin. He is survived by his son, Joseph Allen (Mary); daughter, Linda Jean. Family and friends will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home on Chapman Highway Thursday, September 24th from 5-8 p.m. in the Chapel. Parking is available at Chapel level. The body will then be transported to Fairfield, IL. Final visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, September 28th followed by a graveside service in Maple Hill Cemetery.
