I was surprised and saddened to hear of George's death.  George was a mentor for me at the bridge table.  He had patience with me as a partner and corrected many of my bidding and contract playing mistakes.  I had asked him to by my partner just a month before his death.  He was an expert player.

I didn't know George very long but he seemed like a very nice man.  He and I played bridge together once and he kibitzed while I was playing several times.  I had missed him at the bridge center and was thinking of calling him when I found out he had passed away.  I was quite shocked at his passing as he seemed to be in good health.  His family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

George was an awesome person whom I loved dearly.  He worked for my husband in Radcon and I worked with him on many occassions.  George was kind and he never made me feel like I was less of a person because I didn't have as much experience as he did.  He was so willing to teach me how to do things and I will forever be grateful for him doing so.  I loved being around him and hearing his laugh.  He loved his family. George was a great & caring person. I worked with him in the past and he could tell some good stories that would make you laugh and bring a smile to your face. The family is in my prayers, he will be missed.

I only worked with George for a few years but he was such a sweetie. He was so personable, had a great sense of humor, and would offer his help anytime.  He loved talking about his family and his birth home.  I asked him, when he retired, if he had any plans to return to Scotland, as he still had property there, and he said no, as much as he missed it Tennessee was his home.  Little did he know it would only be a short time and he would be back where he started, in his beloved hills of Scotland.

I am so sorry to hear of George's passing. I worked at Y-12 in RADCON with him and he was so sweet to reach out to me as a "grief buddy" after my husband passed away suddenly from cancer back in 2006.  I know it was painful for him to relive some of his experience in losing his dear Bette. But I so appreciated his encouragement.  Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and give you comfort during this difficult time.

I had the privelege of working with George on occassions and found him to be a very thoughtful and giving person.  I miss not getting to know him better.  My condolences to the family and may his spirit reside with God.  Mavis

 My heartfelt sympathy goes out to George's family with this great loss. As his cousin, I have numerous wonderful past memories of him when we grew up in in Massachusetts.     
He was also an extraordinary football player in High School as Co-Captain of the team, and later an outstanding player for Nichols College.
Although the miles have separated us for some time now, he will never be forgotten.

We knew George from the big band dances we attended.  He was great fun.  His laugh would warm the room.  We will miss him.

I spoke with Mr. Caithness several times at the pool and he always was bright and full of cheer.  He always brightened up my day.

George was coworker of mine for many years,and a good one! I was glad to have worked with him and considered him a friend. Well miss him!

After being a co-worker as well as George's supervisor for a few years, I can assure you that he will be sorely missed.  He was a very intelligent man with a great sense of humor who never met a stranger, and also a top notch Radcon Tech.  I am so sorry to hear of his passing.  Please accept my deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences for your loss.

We in the Knoxville Bridge Club will miss George very much.  He was a favorite of the newer players.  They enjoyed his lessons.  He had just started giving the first lesson of a new series this past Sunday.  His students were shocked to hear of his passing.
