He was a member of Knob Creek Baptist Church. George graduated from Harrison Chilhowee Baptist Academy in 1960 where he played football. He later was a truck driver for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents L.G. and Margaret Cotter.
George is survived by sister Wanda Johnson; brothers Arnold (Betty) Cotter and James (Susan) Cotter. He also left behind several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold private services.
