McMahan, Jr., George Washington, age 84 was born February 11, 1938 to the late George Sr and Martha Culberton McMahan in Knoxville, Tennessee. He departed this life Sunday, March 6, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Mark Anthony McMahan.
George grew up with a loving family. He enlisted in the Navy at a early age George returned home to work with TVA and Bull Run Steam Plant. George was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. He enjoyed coaching football and baseball teams. George loved to make people laugh with his singing which was his greatest talent. He was a friend to many.
George leaves to cherish his sisters, Jeanette Battle and Annette Andrews; sons, George W. McMahan, III (Humpy), Sterling McGuire and Ivan Clint McMahan and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, relatives and friends; devoted niece Angela Bly and thanks to Beverly Park Place for their care.
Family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Monday, March 14, 2022 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home 3704 Chapman Hwy, with services at 1pm. Interment to follow at Mount Olive Cemetery. Condolences and memories of George may be shared at www.berryfuneralhome.com
