Georgia Evelyn Hickman

Georgia Evelyn Hickman, age 92, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023. She was a long-time employee of White Store #16 and Food City #656 in South Knoxville. Georgia was loved by "her" customers and always greeted them with a word of encouragement and a smile. Georgia often lamented that she loved her job and wished she could still work. She was known and loved by many people in South Knoxville as well as people she knew from church. Georgia used her distinctive alto voice singing in church for decades. She was a faithful christian throughout her life and lived in a way that reflected God's love.

She was preceded in death by her husband 40 years, Ules Hickman; parents; 8 brothers and sisters and, numerous nieces and nephews.

Georgia is survived by sons: Terry Hickman (Darlene), Ronald Hickman (Georgann), Harold Hickman, Mike Hickman (Betty); grandchildren: Julianne Fowler (Benji), Emily Georgia Hickman, Hannah Harris (Elijah), Shelby Hickman, Andrew Hickman; great-grandchildren: Joanna Harris, Sullivan "Sully" Harris; brother-in-law, Marvin Hickman; sister-in-law, Sara Lee and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 15, 2023 between the hours of 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville with a service to follow at 7:00 PM. officiated by Benji Fowler. Family and friends will meet Monday, October 16, 2023 at Berry Highland South Cemetery, 9010 Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN for a 1:00 PM Interment Service.
