Geraldine H Suchocki

Geraldine Suchocki, 94, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Ben Atchley State Veterans Home. Daughter of Fletcher Hopkins and Alice (Naillon) Hopkins. Born at Mt. Sterling, North Carolina. Graduated High School, class of 1942 in Woodstown, NJ. Employed by DuPont Chemical Company before joining the U.S. Coast Guard Women’s Reserve during WWII. She raised her family in N.Y. 1951-1991. Was the proud mother of 10 children - six of whom served in the Armed Forces. Served 9 years as a Schoharie County 4-H Leader. She was a member of the L.D.S Church. A lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans. Breeding and training of pure bred dogs (one of which became a Leader Dog of the Blind) was a long time interest and hobby. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Victor Suchocki and sons Victor Jr., Fletcher and Kenneth. She is survived by her children, Anita ( Ike Phillips) Stearns, Geraldine “Buffie” (Tom) Griesel, Raymond (Robin) Suchocki, Michael (Sharon) Suchocki, Debora (Stephen) Nye, Karen (William) Maloney, Kurt Suchocki, 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Austin Hopkins. A Memorial Service will be held at Latter Day Saints Church in Central Bridge, New York on May 27, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
