Gertie O'Dell Baugus

BAUGUS, GERTIE PHILLIPS – age 84 of Knoxville, met her Jesus on Friday, April 18, 2014. Preceded in death by father, Jeff and mother, Maudie Phillips; husband, Claude Spencer Baugus; brothers, William, Royce and Leo Phillips; sisters, Katy Tucker and Marie Gregory; grandson, Justin Baugus; great-granddaughter, Maely Baugus. Survived by children, Dwight Baugus, Winona (Bob) Parker, Doyle Baugus, Cheryl Snyder, Wendell (Anita) Baugus, Rebecca (Paul) Bales; grandchildren, Angie, Aaron, Ben, Spencer, Bobby, Marilyn, Travis, Meaghan, Whitney, Hannah, Seth, Katie and Matthew; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Arnita, Inez, Bert, Virginia and Doris; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to U.T. Hospice and Nurse Whitney. Visitation will be held in Weaver’s chapel Tuesday from 6-8 pm with service to follow. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 pm Wednesday at Corum Cemetery in Elgin, AL. for a 2 pm interment. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to U.T. Hospice.
