Gladys May Frankenberg, age 102, of Maryville, passed away January 20, 2019. She was born January 6, 1917 in Genesis, Tennessee, the first of thirteen children born to Arthur and Ella Slettvet. Gladys was a lifelong Lutheran and a member of First Lutheran Church, Knoxville for 80 years. Preceded in death by her husband, Henry R. Frankenberg; son, Henry Frankenberg, Jr.; brothers, Floyd, Archie, and Herbert Slettvet; sisters, Myrtle, Juanita, Dorothy, Elizabeth, and Lois Ann. She is survived by sons, George (Pat), John (Dorothy), Alfred (Rosemary), and Tom Frankenberg; grandchildren, Mary (John) Booth, Robert, Sharon, Charles (Julie), David (Jan) and Henry Frankenberg, Susan (Todd) Bolinger, Shelly (Michael) Cameron, Connie (Greg) McNamera, and Allison(Aaron) Dalton; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald and Dallas Slettvet; sisters, Lee Long and Beverly Leisure. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Thursday, January 24, 2019 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, with a celebration of life service at 2:00 pm.
