To the York family: Great Aunt Gladys is remembered by me for some great evenings by her fireplace and in the fields on her farm where Dad and I hunted rabbits with my brand new gun. (age 12 or 13) Mom, Dad and I enjoyed her hospitality as we spent a few nights in her home. We attended Sevier Heights with her and Carl, also.. In addition, we had a business relationship as we bought some farm products from her and sold them in our grocery store.
Our condolences,

Dearest Carolyn and Patti,
I am deeply sorry for the loss of your precious Mother. She was such a blessing to everyone who knew her. We are the most blessed to have had our Mothers for so long; and what a Godly heritage they have given us! I am so grateful to God for your Mother and mine, and for so many other Godly women who have shared so much of their lives with me. What a blessed hope you have that one day soon you will meet again in the presence of Jesus. May God comfort your hearts today with His Peace and assurance of this Hope. Love, Brenda Davis Tenpenny

Patti and Carolyn, I'm so sorry to learn of the loss of your mother. She was always so sweet when I would be at your house. I just lost my mom also so I know the pain you feel but at the same time joy, knowing that she is out of all suffering and pain. You will be in my prayers.

Carolyn and Patty,
Tonight I read about your mothers passing. I am so sorry for your loss. It is a very tiring time and the holidays make it harder. While we know your mother is in a better place, being without is an adjustment that will be dealt with daily for some time. May our Father and Jesus wrap Their arms around you to help the both of you. You are in my prayers.

Patti and Carolyn, although I didn't get to meet Gladys until later in life, I feel blessed that I got to know her, see her smile, enjoy her humor, and understand her wit. She was an amazing woman, as of course you know. I also feel blessed to have gotten to know you all. You all are so strong and I know that Gladys is looking down on you smiling, and happy. Love you both!!

Carolyn and Patti, it is with great sadness that I write. Your mother was one of the kindest ladies I've known.
She helped me so much as a beginning teacher. For that, I will always be grateful.
My prayers are with the two of you.

Your mother was the best Sunday School teacher that I ever had. It was over fifty years ago . She made such an impression on me. She was a special lady and such a good friend to my mother, Norma Ellis.

Your Mother was one of my Sunday School teachers at Sevier Heights. It was promotion Sunday and she came in and sat down and we just kept talking. She allowed us about 2 minutes and then she said, "What is the name of our lesson for today." We looked at each other and grabbed our purses and pulled out the Sunday School Quarterly and our Bibles. Welcome to Gladys York's Sunday School Class. I learned so much from her and I passed it on to others and they to even more. It was her legacy to me and it continues. I know she is in the presence of Jesus, the One she taught a class of 15 year old girls all about. Love to her daughters, Carolyn and Patti. Jack and Linda Tipton
