Glenn W. Siler

Glenn Warren Siler, 72, of Maryville TN, passed away on August 7, 2023, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He graduated from West High School in Knoxville and from the University of Tennessee in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He began his professional career at Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union in 1973. Glenn achieved the designation of Certified Credit Union Executive and held several positions early in his career at the Credit Union. He became Vice President of Marketing in 1986. He always supported the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” and worked hard to promote the value of credit unions. Glenn was selected to lead the Credit Union as President and CEO in 2008. The Credit Union achieved great success during his tenure. He served the Credit Union for forty-nine (49) years until his recent retirement.

Glenn served in the Air National Guard for more than 20 years. In addition to his long tenure with the Credit Union, Glenn served on the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau from 2008 to 2013.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Etta Siler. Glenn is survived by his wife, Jennifer McGhee Siler, brother-in-law Kevin McGhee and wife, Connie; numerous cousins in LaFollette, Tennessee and close family friends, Michael and Margaret Walters, Charlotte Hale, and Cody and Kaitlin Walters and their children.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, 871 N. Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 12, from 4-6 p.m. at the Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union Administration Office at 1409 Centerpoint Blvd., Knoxville.
