Harley Cletis Brown

Brown, Harley Cletis (92) of Knoxville, TN was promoted to Heaven to be with the Lord Tuesday November 18, 2014. He served as a Navy Flight Engineer in WWII. During his thirty year ministry, he pastored churches in five states. He was a Deacon and longtime member of Forest Grove Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver (Ader) Brown and sister, Ona Lee Goodson. He is survived by his wife, Helen Brown; daughters, Constance (Kenny) Johnson and Karen (Jim) Cowart; grandchildren, Scott (Page) Johnson, Keith Johnson, Mark (Rae) Cowart, Melissa Cowart and Camila Cowart; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Amelia, and Eden Johnson and Cora, Mary, Evelyn, and Caleb Cowart; brother, O. Leonard Brown; several nieces and nephews; and “adopted” daughter and grandson, Jennifer and Jameson Joyner. The family will receive friends Saturday November 22, 2014 from 11am to 1pm with a 1pm service. Interment will follow after service at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
