Harry H. Oakes

Oakes, Harry H., age 88, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 9, 2010. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He was retired from Cherokee Radiator Service. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Survived by wife, Nell Oakes; children, Gilbert and Debbie Oakes, Christine Berry, Marie and Bud McKee, Janet and David Spradlin and step-children, David and Linda Nations and Jerry and Deborah Tomberlin; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 6 step great-grandchildren. Service will be on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, with Rev. Clarence Gresham officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Cemetery for the interment.
