Hattie Thornton

Thornton, Hattie-born February 8, 1924 died peacefully at home March 17, 2013 at age 89. Preceded in death by parents Jack and Florence Bailey; sister Jane Julian of Knoxville and Edna Good of Morristown, TN. Hattie is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 67 years, Buford (A.B.) Thornton; daughter Gail Thornton-Beech and husband Brady Beech; sister Jackie Sue Bailey of Knoxville. Grandson Kale Gray and wife Rhyanne of Peachtree, City, GA; great grandchildren Taryn, Carson, and Gwen Gray; grandson Christopher Gray and wife Diana of Seattle, WA.; great grandchildren Henry and Amanda Gray; several special nieces and nephews. She was retired from U. T. Book and Supply Store after several years as an accountant. Hattie was an active member of Lake Forest Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 pm, Pastor Bill Barron officiating.
