Helen P Bean

She was a retiree from the University of Tennessee Library. Helen was an avid reader, loved gardening and was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and UT Basketball.

She was preceded in death by husband, Fred W. "Red" Bean; parents, Roy L. and Georgia Hawkins Prater; sisters, Betty Sharpe and Peggy Prater.

Helen is survived by daughter, Linda Bean; many nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great nephews. With special thanks to her nephew, Lee Temple for all his help also, wonderful neighbors, Jim Chaffin and Stephanie Manning. The family would like to thank UT Hospice for their care.

Family and friends will meet Monday, June 20, 2022 at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Maryville Pike, Knoxville for an 11:00am Graveside Service. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to a public or school library in memory of Helen. Librarians bring light.
