Helen Faye Penland

Helen Faye Penland, age 93 of Knoxville, passed away May 22, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louia C. Mays and Edith Shubert Mays; brother, John Alvin Mays; sister, Jean Frances Mays LaBier; husbands, William Robbins and Henry Penland; dear friend, Ed Chandler. Survived by son, John William Robbins, Nashville; daughter, Brenda Faye Collins, Knoxville; granddaughters, Emily Robbins, Atlanta, Rachel Robbins, Nashville, Holly Jensen and husband Jason, Nashville; great-granddaughter, Reese Mays Jensen, Nashville. Fondly remembered by family members, Sheila and Rodney Smith, Knoxville, Jon and Abby Ritchie, St. Petersburg, FL., Jake Smith and Jennifer Smith, Knoxville. Thank you to Atria Westin Place for their care during the last few years, and to Turkey Creek Medical Center for their care during her final hours. Family will receive friends Wednesday in Weaver's chapel from 1:00-2:00 pm with service to follow at 2:00 pm. Family and friends will reconvene at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for a 3:00 pm interment.
