A faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinebrook Holiness Church, and Calvary Baptist Church, Helen’s spirit shone through in her compassionate presence within her church communities.
She was the kindest, most generous, and selfless soul, always giving more than she expected in return. She had a heart full of love for animals, cherishing her dog Angel, and remembering fondly the pets she adored over the years (Radar, Roxie, and Fido). She found joy in simple pleasures, like gardening and working with all kinds of plants, of which yellow roses were her favorite. She loved playing bingo and she had a sweet spot for all sweets, especially tubs of orange candy. Elvis has been her favorite artist through the years and Christmas was her favorite time of year being surrounded by family and friends.
Throughout her career she worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, AFG Glass plant and Tennessee Valley Authority, from which she retired. She was a member of the Church Hill Rescue Squad Crewettes in her younger years volunteering to help others. She was a very special person and is deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Ules Clonts and Wyoline Stiles Clonts.
Helen is survived by her devoted husband, Donald Poston; her sons, Mike (Dawn) Poston and Daniel (Dena) Poston; her grandchildren, Christopher Chad Poston, Christopher Michael Poston, Tiffany Dawn Poston, Joshua Poston, and Megan Danielle Poston; her brother, Billy Lakes Clonts; and her sisters, Katheryn Harrow, Glenda Huff, Frannie (Frank) Suttie, Juanita (Doug) Stewart, and Willa Mae "Tootie" (Wayne) Weaver.
