Jack was a self-proclaimed “dreamer of dreams and traveling man,” and spent much of his life as a traveling musician. He was the first person to play the blues in the Old City in Knoxville, and played the Grand Ole Opry twice in his youth. He proudly served his country as a member of the Air Force during Vietnam. He was also an adventurer, sailor, and pilot, and loved nothing more than sitting in the sun, being at the beach, and listening to old Motown records.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Betty Donaldson Merriman, and his father, Jack Merriman, Sr.
He is survived by his longtime partner, Cindy Salmon Heiskell, and her family whom he adored, including beloved granddaughter Emma; his siblings, Mike Merriman, Stacy Merriman Cromer, and Kristi Merriman; his children, Jacque Matthews, Michael Merriman, Katie Merriman, Kristina Merriman, and Henry J. Merriman III; as well as his much-loved nephews and grandchildren.
Family and friends will meet at Mount Olive Cemetery at 12:45 PM for a 1:00 PM graveside service Saturday, December 3rd, 2022.
