Valentine, Herlinda Claudia Santos (72) of Knoxville, TN went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Born to Sergio and Isella Santos in Havana, Cuba, she came to the United States as a teenager and made a wonderful life with her family and a successful career as a nurse at St. Mary’s for 34 years. Herlinda was a long time member of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by mother, Isella and brother, Antonio; sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Wanda, Lorene. Herlinda is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Valentine; children, Teresa (Rodman) McNatt, Allen (Amy) DeMarcus, Kay (Michael) Howard; 12 grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Catherine, Wilma (Jim); brother-in-law, Darrell (Wanda); several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Arbor Terrace, Senior Medical Service and Tennova Hospice for their exceptional care. Family will have a time of fellowship Friday, March 11th from 11am-12pm with graveside service immediately following at Berry Highland South on Simpson Road.
