

Dean died of a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Mae Cooper; brother, Joe Cooper; sisters-in-law, Roberta" Bobbie Collier, and Barbra Cooper.
Dean graduated from Karns High School in 1956. He loved sports. He played all 4 years on the basketball and baseball teams11a and was captain in both his senior year. He went to Carson Newman to play baseball for a brief time before entering the Army National Guard in 1957 for 6 years. He spent 31 years with Rohm & Haas before retiring in 1999.
Fishing, gardening, and cutting wood were some of his favorite things to do but he loved spending time with his grandkids. Dad was a man of faith and was a member of the Tekoa Baptist church. He loved visiting others at harvest time to give away his tomatoes and cucumbers. His dry wit, steadfast, constant, and quiet demeanor will forever be a part of our lives.
Dean is survived by his wife Evelyn of 66 years. His daughters, Deana Dillon (Fred) and Donna James, and fiancée Scott Looney. Grandchildren, Laura Reuss, Sara (Brian) Fox, Mason (Lacey) Dillon, and Adrian (Allie) Hall. Great-grandchildren, Abbey James & fiancée James Cooper, McKenzie Fox, Brielle Fox, Cruz Fox, Ava Hall. Sister, Sue Reed and nieces and nephews, Pennie Cummins, Tracy Butterini. Melodie (Citrus) Pour, Tonya Johnson, Terry (Kathy) Collier Cary (Donovan) Howard, and Jeff Bayraus; sister-in-law, Catherine Ellis; brothers-in-law, Howard Johnson Paul (Ann) Johnson.
Friends and family will gather at Weaver Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 12,2025, from 11am - 1 p.m. Funeral service to follow at 1:00pm with Rev. David Tullick officiating. Family and friends will meet following service at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemoor Rd. Powell, TN 37849, for interment.
