

A 1968 graduate of Young High School, Herman dedicated many years of faithful service to Norfolk Southern Railroad before his well-earned retirement. He made his home in Knoxville's Vestal community, where neighbors and friends came to know him for his steady presence and quiet strength.
Herman leaves behind his beloved sister, Diana Cooper, and brothers Randy and Larry Jones. He was a cherished uncle to his nephews Matthew, Luke, Adam, and Jonaaron Jones. He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Jean Jones; his brothers David and Mark Jones; and his nephew Benjiman Jones.
Those who knew Herman will remember him as a man of unwavering loyalty and quiet perseverance. His life was deeply rooted in family bonds and the values of hard work and dedication. Though his passing leaves a void in the hearts of his loved ones, his legacy of steadfast devotion and gentle strength will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
Herman's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived and deeply loved.
A visitation for Herman will be held Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. A graveside service will occur Monday, September 22, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Stock Creek Baptist Church, 8106 Martin Mill Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920.
