I worked with Houston at Coors Brewing company and he was one of the classiest, kindest and warm human beings I have ever met.  May he rest in peace and my the angels help the family through this great loss.

My heart is broken.  Houston and I became friends through the Braves.  Our seats at Turner Field were next to each other and I was always thrilled to see him at the games.  He was such a sweet and fascinating man.  I absolutely adored him and I loved talking to him.  I can't even begin to imagine not sitting with him.  I will miss my dear friend forever.

We were deeply saddened to learn of Houston's sudden passing.  With his passing the world will be a little darker but heaven  will be brighter.  For the family and dear friends  it will be the little things that  will be remembered, the quiet moments, the smiles, and the laughter. Even though it may seem hard right now, it will be the memories of these little things that will help to push away the grief and bring the smiles back again.

Houston was a wonderful man who treated me with undeserved kindness and generosity. Like Gail wrote, he made us all better people just to be around him.

Houston was a gentle giant of a man.  My life has been enriched to have known him over the years.  He will be missed by all that knew him.

We will miss our classmate and long time friend. Everybody loved Houston for his infectious smile and generous heart.

We were priviledged to sit with Houston for several years at Lady Vol Basketball games and often saw him at Lady Vol Softball games and the Knoxville Quarterback Club meetings.
Houston was the best kind of fan in that he supported his Vol and Lady Vol teams through good seasons and bad.  He took joy in the success and development of our young players and enjoyed their competition regardless of the outcome.  He was affable, positive, and generous to others.  We will miss but forever cherish his presence, warm smiles, and "plaid shirts".  It is a comfort and a blessing to know that Houston was doing what he loved when he was called HOME.

Marvin and I were devasted to hear about Houston.  We pray for the family that God will hold you and comfort you until you see Houston again.  We have known Houston for 29 years.  Have had so many good memories with Houston tailgating, going to bowl games, and meeting him for dinner. Marvin attended the Vol's Quarterback Club and Tip Off Club with Houston.  Marvin always looked up to him and called him his mentor.  Since this past fall they have been having breakfast at Pete's about every other weekend unless Houston was traveling.  He was such a wonderful and very smart man.  We will miss him so much. Both of our children Brittani and Jake thought the world of Houston.   Prayers for the family.
