Howard Taft Johnson Jr.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Willie (Smith) Johnson, sister Roberta Collier, former spouse Wanda D. Johnson, and brothers-in-law Roy Collier, Herman Cooper and Bob Ellis.

He is survived by his sisters Evalyn Cooper and Catherine Ellis, brother Paul Johnson (Ann); his daughter Melodie Pour (favorite son-in-law Cyrus); very special nephew L. Shawn Breskow (Lisa); granddaughters Chloe and Azur, great grandson Kaiden; nieces Deana Dillon, Donna Cooper, Tonya Johnson, Cary Howard, and nephew Terry Collier; great nieces Laura, Sara, Lindsey and great nephews Davis and Mason.

Special friends in Howard’s recent life include Robin, Tristan, Dr. Greg Brewer, and Paul Mareth. Many thanks are extended to the amazing staff and nurses at St. Thomas West Hospital (Nashville) and Cloverland Park Senior Living facility (Brentwood).

Howard was a clever and witty intellect that helped many people throughout his lifetime. His career as a computer programmer started in the 1960’s in Knoxville, moving him around the country until his retirement from Wells Fargo.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026 11AM at Weaver’s in Knoxville with burial to follow.
