Imogene Cupp Garner, 89, passed away on October 28, 2026 at her home. She was a graduate of Bearden High School and worked at the University of Tennessee Medical Center as a Phlebotomist for 25 years. She was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church and attended Mount Olive Baptist Church. Imogene took pride in her family and loved spending time with them especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Alvin Garner; parents, Lois and Earna Cupp; sisters, Daisy Johnson and Jane Cupp.
She is survived by daughter, Kathy (Claude) Shepard; son, Tom (Mitzi) Garner; grandchildren, Megan (Ryan) Prettyman, Matthew (Jessica) Garner, Cynthia (Karina) Shepard, Courtney Shepard, Deanna (Jarvis Neal-Luckett) Shepard and Brandon Shepard; great-grandchildren, Garrett and Clara Ray Prettyman, Judah Wilson, Iris Shepard-Green and Levi Garner.
The family will receive friends 5-7 pm, Monday, November 2, 2026 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway. Family and friends will meet at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at 3 pm for graveside services. Pastor Brock Webster officiating.
