Imogene Tallent

Imogene Ownby Tallent, age 89, of South Knoxville, passed away suddenly Saturday, February 17, 2018. She was a sweet, loving, generous lady who would give you the shirt off her back. Imogene was preceded in death by her son, Harold Tallent; parents John and Rintha Ownby; siblings Roscoe Ownby, Stella Mize, Aileen Gillespie, Bertha Ownby, Hazel Ownby, and Bobby Ownby. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Charles Tallent; sons: David (Carolyn) and Howard (Barbara); grandchildren: Wendy, Chuck, Tim, Eric, Christine, and Krystal; eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Floyd Ownby, Ray Ownby, Cassie Cansler, and Shirley Goans. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Christopher Sawyer's office for all the care that was shown Imogene over the years. Family will receive friends Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM, Pastors Jason Creech and Kevin Anderson officiating.
