
Huffaker, Jacob J. 86 of Sevierville, Tennessee passed away Saturday at home, June 20, 2015. He was the son of Nora and Jimmy Huffaker and was raised by his grandparents Dona and Jacob J. Huffaker. Mr. Huffaker graduated from Sevierville High School and has been a member of Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle since 1954. Mr. Huffaker married Betty Lou Huffaker on August 7, 1950. He served in the Army from April 6, 1952 until April 6, 1954 in the Korean War in the 304th Signal Corps, 8th Army Headquarters Crypto Unit. Mr. Huffaker was a member of the National Rifle Association. Before he retired, Mr. Huffaker was an assistant manager for the A&P store on Chapman Highway for many years. Mr. Huffaker is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Huffaker; daughter Vickie S. (Alan) Walter of Ringgold, GA and her children Rachel (Caleb) Newsome of Knoxville, TN, Deborah Walter of Rossville, GA, and Rachel’s children Olivia, Claire, and Isaac; daughter Deborah (Robert) Stretcher of Huntsville, TX and her children Justin Earle of Knoxville, TN, Staff Sgt. Joshua (Megan) Earle of Clarksville, TN currently serving in Afghanistan, and Adam Stretcher of Huntsville, TX, and Joshua’s children McKenzie, Skylar, Peyton, and Jacob. Family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home on Chapman Highway Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 5 to 7 pm with funeral service conducted by Pastor Tony Greene to follow at 7pm. Interment will be at Berry Highland South on Simpson Road Wednesday June 24, 2015 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Huffaker would prefer donations be made to the Free Medical Clinic of America, 6209 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920, in care of Dr. Tom Kim.
