Bell, James Walter, age 81, of East Knox, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 5th, 2012 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Jim was a loving father and grandfather. He was a member of Circle Assembly of God, Rutledge Pike, a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean Conflict, a 3rd degree Mason of the Burlington Masonic Lodge #763 for 52 years, and retired from Southern Bell Telephone after 30 years of service as a cable lineman, then worked for GTE in Tampa, Florida for an additional 20 years. He was preceded in death by: wife Johnny Faye Bell; parents Morgan and Minnie Ellen Bell; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include: children Sheila Mendez and Dan Bell; grandchildren: Ryan Mendez and Stephanie Mendez; great-grandson Michael Dylan Bohannon; sister Ruby McConnell; brother-in-law Bill and wife Barbara Rayburn; many loving nieces and nephews; special companions Bailey, Riley, and Jo-Jo; and special friend Goldie Starnes.
