Carl was born in Scottsboro, AL in November of 1945. He graduated from Scottsboro High School in 1963 before attending the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Chi Phi Fraternity. He was a member of Fountain City United Methodist Church, a Freemason, and a member of the Tennessee Society Sons of the American Revolution.
Carl was many things including a devoted husband, father, uncle, friend, and pet lover. He was an ardent fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide, a collector of useless information (trivia), a skilled carpenter, a coach, and a (mostly) reformed mischief maker.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Ira Latham, brothers Edward Latham and Willard Latham, and sisters Helen Latham and Paula Latham Manley.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Underwood Latham, daughter Caryn (Matt) Canfield, son Rob (Brandi) Latham, sisters Nita Latham Lyon and Nicé Latham Loney, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Fountain City United Methodist Church with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM.
