James L. Meadows, 88 of Knoxville, TN went to be with his maker after a falling accident on November 12, 2018. James has suffered for years with Alzheimer’s and cancer. James was born in Cuba, KY. In 1949 he graduated from Sedalia High School in Sedalia, KY, in 1955 from Freed- Hardeman University with an AA Degree, 1961-64 he did further work at Union University in Jackson, TN and in 1997 at the Theological University of America with a DM Degree. James had 62 years experience in preaching, local work in TN, KY and SC, meetings and lectures, radio and television. He was Director Emeritus of East TN School of Preaching and Missions (SEIBS), authored 42 Bible study books and mission work around the world. Preceded in death by parents, one brother, two sons, brother-in-law, granddaughter and grandson. Survived by his wife, Beverly; sister, Clara Harrison; daughters, Brenda (Roger) Gatlin, LaQuita (George) Haddon, 4 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday at Karns Church of Christ from 4-7 pm with service to follow at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Karns Church of Christ or the Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies.
