James Ruble Welch, 79, of Seymour, Tennessee, passed away on August 16, 2026. Born on August 31, 1946, James lived a life marked by steady dedication, quiet integrity, and a deep devotion to those he loved.
James graduated from Seymour High School in 1964, carrying forward the values of perseverance and straightforward honesty that remained evident throughout his life. He later served in the Army National Guard, a commitment that reflected both loyalty and a willingness to answer when needed.
A hard-working man in the truest sense, James was also known for the warmth he showed others—kind-hearted in everyday ways, and deeply beloved by family and friends. He found genuine enjoyment in simple, meaningful time outdoors, especially fishing and golf, and he appreciated the calm and comfort that came from being outside.

James is survived by his son, Keith Vernon Welch (Karen); grandson, Charles Welch; sister, Kay Galyon; niece, Kimberly McCarter; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Welch; mother, Rella Welch; and sisters, Carolyn McMurray, Jerri McCarter.
