

Jerry was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather who in May of 1962 married the love of his life, Betty Jean Ross in Knoxville, TN. Jerry and Betty had 64 happy and fun filled years together before his passing. He graduated from Rule High School in 1960, where he and Betty were high school sweethearts. He then attended Carson Newman College and the University of Tennessee. Jerry with Betty was an avid traveler, visiting 22 countries and 49 states, missing only North Dakota. Jerry's career consisted of retail management, a purchasing agent for a family business, and a manufacturing consultant. He attended Middlebrook Pike United Methodist Church almost 40 years where he an active member and volunteer.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Nell Earl, his three older brothers, Tony, Jack and Danny as well as his son Brad Earl. He is survived by his wife, Betty Earl, son, Gene Earl (Janet), daughter Nora Hageman (Tim), grandchildren, Ross, Claire, Ella, Nick and Holly, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at Middlebrook Pike United Methodist Church, 7234 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN, 37909, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 2pm followed by a reception at fellowship hall. The service will be officiated by Pastor Troy Forrester.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Middlebrook Pike United Methodist Church.
