Jerry David Hankins

Jerry D. Hankins, age 77 of Knoxville, went to his heavenly home March 30, 2017 at Asbury Place. He was a member and Deacon at Ft. Sanders Baptist Church. Jerry retired as a Master Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force after 32 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Trula Hankins; brothers, Bob, Ronnie and Jon and sister, Mary Ann Turner. Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Liz Hankins; daughters, Debbie (Tim) Via and Lynne Hankins; grandchildren, Elizabeth and David Cox, T.J. Via, David (Stephanie) Van Winkle; great-granddaughters, Kendal (Andrew) Baumann and Alexis Haun; sisters, Judy (Jerry) Rogers and Janice Hankins; several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Dr. Robert Alley, Dr. Donald Wheatley and the staff of Asbury Place. Family will receive friends Tuesday at Weaver Funeral Home from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
