Jewell W. Lowe

Lowe, Jewell W., age 82, of South Knoxville, passed away December 28, 2011, at her home. She was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star Shekinah Chapter. Jewell enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling to Florida and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Proceeded in death by parents, Woodrow and Martha Wilson; oldest son, Gary; and daughter, Linda. She worked with her husband for many years as owners of Lowes Auto Parts. Survived by husband of 65 years, James “Ed” Lowe; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Jane Lowe; son, Jimmy Lowe; daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Gary Gitschlag; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Susan Lowe; grandchildren, Brad (Christy) Lowe; Josh (Tracy) Lowe; Casey Lowe; Jason (Amanda) Lowe; Lori (Jake) Kilpatrick; Nick Turner; Brian (Paula) Turner; Chris Lowe; Courtney (Travis) Black; Leighann (Traver) Madden; Andrew (Priscilla) Gitschlag; William Gitschlag; Stephen (Jenna) Gitschlag; Alison (Jeremy) Warren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ollie Jones, Crossville and Lorene Lowe, Crossville; brother, Daniel Wilson, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Betty Jones; special family friends, Tootie Ford Atchley and Denny Ford; special caregivers from Caris Hospice, Autumn, Cassandra, Becky, Tiffany, Christy and Tom. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Valley Grove Baptist Church, 9000 Sevierville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011, in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m., Rev. Denny Ford officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2011, at Valley Grove Cemetery, Rev.
