

Joan Wallace Crowder, perpetually 28 years of age, of Knoxville, passed away surrounded by loved ones November 26, 2017. She was born in Harriman, Tennessee to the late Fred and Gertie Wallace and lived a life full of knowledge. Joan was a science teacher at Hopkinsville High School for 30 years and spent her time there challenging and inspiring students to be even greater than they thought possible. Even after retirement, she remained an active advocate for NEA, KEA, SDEA, and CCEA. Joan was a supportive and loving woman, never failing to lend a hand to her family or to her students. Even when her health began to decline, she showed tremendous strength and courage to keep going and keep fighting. Joan was loved and respected by all who knew her and she is already missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and a granddaughter. Joan leaves to cherish her memory her 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and her sister. A Memorial Service to celebrate Joan’s life will be held at 11 am, December 9, 2017, at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd Knoxville TN 37932. The Memorial Service will be shared jointly for Joan’s brother, Edwin Wallace, who passed away on October 3, 2017.
