March 16, 1940 – June 25, 2025
Joan Hefner Lampkin, 85, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on June 25, 2025. Born on March 16, 1940, Joan lived a long and full life marked by faith, strength, and a deep love for her family and community.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, H.K. Hefner and Howard Lampkin, along with many other loved ones who held a special place in her heart. She now rejoices in a long-awaited reunion with them in Heaven.
Joan is survived by her three sons: Kent (Tina) Hefner, Keith (Eileen) Hefner, and Kyle (Mindy) Hefner. She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
A devoted member of South Point Church (formerly Gospel Baptist Church), Joan lived out her faith by serving others—most often through food. Whether feeding the congregation or baking at home, her love came through in every bite. Her chocolate pies, in particular, were nothing short of legendary—“the best to ever grace your lips.”
Joan found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved camping and hiking in the mountains, baking in her kitchen, and playing sweet melodies on her dulcimer. She also cherished quiet time reading her Bible, drawing strength and peace from the scriptures she held dear. Known for her strong will and unfiltered honesty, Joan never hesitated to speak her mind—and her family wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Joan’s family takes comfort in knowing she has now found eternal rest and the ultimate victory in Jesus. Her faith carried her through life’s trials, and now she walks in glory with the One she trusted so deeply.
