Strickland Family,
I'm sorry I'm not able to be there, but it was nice to be able to see you all online. I always enjoyed seeing and talking with Joan. She was very kind to me and shared fun stories. She was a strong, resilient and smart lady that I admired in many ways.
I want to share my condolences with Mike, Gary and David. It's hard losing your mom, I know and understand. She was the ONE person who knew you like no other. Sending you guys prayers of comfort and virtual hugs.
Also, I want to say I'm so sorry to Rodney and Ryan. I know this is the last member of your grandparent realm.
And, Barbara--you did a lot for Joan over the years.
Love you guys!
Suzette Strickland

Cheers to Mrs. Joan Strickland you taught me how to be independent, daring, willing and able in all degrees of weather. I will never forget you. You were an artist who saw beauty everywhere. You loved animals and nature. Peaches, Stormy and so many others were blessed to be cared for by you. You loved your family to no end and taught me how to become a woman in my own right, and how to be a mother possessing unconditional love and respect to my children . Thank you for everything you taught all of us. Till we meet again. Love Always. Christy

I regret that I never got the opportunity to meet Granny Strickland in person, but I was very fortunate to be able to talk to her over the phone. Granny Strickland was very sweet, and very kind to me, and always expressed her happiness for my sister Sabbath and I, that we had been reunited. I think of her fondly, and she will be missed.
