Joann Carroll Affel

Joann Carroll Affel, age 86, of Knoxville, TN passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021. She was a member of Ruggles Ferry Baptist Church. Joann retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory after many years as a Nuclear Lab Analyst. She loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Affel; sons, Allen Carroll Jr. "Buzz", Timothy Howard Carroll.

Survived by daughters, Lisa Carroll (Wayne) Walker, Jennifer Carroll (late husband, William "Beaver") Adams, Susan Affel; son, Bob Affel; daughter in law, Lisa S. Carroll; grandchildren, Allen and Brian Carroll, April Metcalf (Eddie), Leslie Joann Bunch Cook (Travis), Lee Wayne Walker; great-grandchildren, Jared and Chase Metcalf, Rachael Carroll; several great-great grandchildren and special friend, Shirley Burcham.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 5, 2021 from 5:00-7:00pm at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Hwy, Knoxville with a service to follow at 7:00pm officiated by Rev. Daniel Johnson. Family and friends will meet Saturday, March 6, 2021 for a 12:00pm Interment at Oak Ridge Memorial Park, 1501 Bethel Valley Road.
