I'm so sorry to learn of Johnny's death. He was a dear man and was close to his sister Ella Mae Allen Carrigan, my mother. I remember going to his shoe store and visiting the family as a small child. My mother admired and loved him and was very proud of all that he accomplished. Before she died I took mom to visit him at his home. He proudly showed us all the lovely Lenten roses that he had planted. My deepest sympathy to his son and family. Sincerely, Janice Carrigan Godfrey.

The previous post has a picture of Uncle Johnny with my mother, Jane Allen, widow of James R Allen the older brother to Uncle Johnny. Sorry if this caused any confusion.

Uncle Johnny was my Daddy's baby brother and 3rd of 8 children by my grandparents Poppy and Grandmother Hamilton as we called her. Uncle Johnny was quite a man. He was funny and most lovable to his family and all that included. I will miss him dearly. RIP Uncle Johnny and I'm glad you and Aunt Louise are finally reunited.
