
John dedicated 18 years of his career to Nashville Machine Elevator Division and later became a business owner with Dairy Queen. He also worked at Revco during his professional journey.
A devoted husband, John is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marsha. He was preceded in death by his father, John Hampton Sr.; his mother, Martha Sue Hampton; and his sister, Patti Denise Robertson.
John had a passion for life that was evident in his hobbies and interests. He loved boating with friends and riding his Ranger Polaris. A lifelong fan of the University of Tennessee football team, he enjoyed cheering them on and reminiscing about his own days playing football for Farragut High School as a tight end, linebacker, and kickoff player.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a service at Berry Highland West Funeral Home, located at 9913 Sherrill Blvd., Knoxville, Tennessee 37932. Burial will take place at 3:00 p.m.
John’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
