John was born in a log cabin on January 5, 1940. He was a lifetime resident of Marble City, a “jack-of-all trades”, and a master of most. He was a master barber and a steel worker at Wise Iron Works.
He was preceded in death by parents, John & Daisy Taylor; sister, Palestine Taylor Jones; brother, Jess W. Taylor; great-grandson, William E. Fox, III.
Survived by wife, Patricia Ann Taylor; sister, Judy “Blanche” Taylor Wilson; sons, Rick Taylor and wife Josie, Tony Taylor and wife Kathy, Greg Taylor and wife Charlotte; daughter, Teresa Taylor Senu and husband Edwin; first wife, Marilyn Simpson Taylor; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 nephews and a niece.
Celebration of life will be held at 5 pm on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at New Faith Revival Center, 2855 Brock Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37919, Rev. Mark Latham and Ralph Baker officiating.
