John Z. C. Thomas, son, brother, uncle, friend. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 2, 1939, grew up in Montgomery, Alabama and has been a resident of Knoxville, Tennessee for over fifty years.
His parents were Charles Marion and Elsie Cavanaugh Thomas. He is survived by his brother, Robert Paige Thomas (Cathy) and his niece, Paige Thomas Caldwell (Edward) and his nephew, Park Cavanaugh Thomas (Carsten) and their mother, Sally Cason Thomas and great nieces, Ann Cason “Casey” Caldwell and “Sara Kennon” Caldwell. He died July 29, 2024. Cremation will be private.

A reception for John will be held at Knox Heritage on Sunday, October 20 from 3:30-6:30p.
