

JOHNNIE JAMES RUDOLPH, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dr. Marva Rudolph; parents Clarence Rudolph and Ella Ruth Snow Rudolph; and brother, Jeffrey Spivey. He was born in Lowndes County, Ala. on May 18, 1951. He attended Howard High School in Chattanooga, TN, Cleveland State Community College, and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1976. John was an associate professor of Mathematics and science at Roane State Community College in Harriman, TN. In August 2016, he was recognized for 40 years of service at the institution. John was also a fan of Western movies, such as Gunsmoke and Bonanza, as well as stand-up comedy, with the likes of Richard Pryor, George Carlin, and Redd Foxx. He also really enjoyed sports, from Major League Baseball to college football. Survivors include his son, John Marcus Rudolph; his daughter, Janna Michelle Rudolph of Santa Cruz, Ca; three sisters, Anna L. Rudolph of Washington D.C., Dena Thompson (Luther) of Raleigh, N.C. and Thelma Tarrance of Hayneville, Ala; six brothers, Eddie B. Rudolph of Atlanta, Ga, John F. Rudolph of Hayneville, Ala, Michael A. Rudolph (Deborah) of Ackworth, Ga, John Arthur Brown of New Carrolton, Maryland Gary L. Rudolph (Gloria) and Reuben Snow, III (Michelle), both in Chattanooga, TN, Devoted aunt: Delores Gordon, Mt. Vernon, New York, Two Uncles Johnny Williams, Montgomery, AL and Jessie Williams, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and many gifted and excelling nieces and nephews, including Jerome Quincy Rudolph, from Chattanooga, TN, who attended the School for the Blind. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials made to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Johnnie. Family will receive friends and family afar on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Weaver Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral for a 12 pm Mass.
