In loving memory of our dear son, brother, and friend, Jorge Brian Boza III, who passed away at the age of 40 after a courageous battle with addiction. Brian’s journey was marked by resilience, and despite the challenges he faced, he touched the lives of many.
Brian was born in Miami and moved to Rolla, Missouri at the age of 2 years old, and lived there until moving to Knoxville, Tennessee where he attended Farragut Schools beginning in 6th grade. Following graduation from Farragut High School in 2002, he went on to study at The University of Tennessee where he was a loyal member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Brian’s artistic spirit flourished through his talents in drawing, playing the guitar and his passion for soccer. He devoted himself to helping others, especially his peers who were struggling with addiction, generously giving his time and resources to those in need. His commitment to making a difference in the lives of others was truly inspiring.
A man of laughter and wit, Brian had a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten the darkest days. His love for literature, particularly his fondness for reading, showcased his intellectual curiosity. Brian was an avid fan of Game of Thrones and found solace in the music of Pearl Jam.
He also had a deep love for animals, especially our pugs, and his beloved companion, Bella. Brian's heart expanded to embrace the furry friends who brought joy and comfort into his life.
He is survived by his parents, Jorge and Jay Anne Boza, two brothers, Michael Boza and Jonathan Boza, three sisters, Katy Boza, Mara Maurer and Kristyn Bolton, his much loved nephew, Letsatsi Boza, Grandmother Suzanne Hook Schacher, and a large extended family of in-laws, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Brian was not just a family member but a cherished friend to many who loved him deeply.
While we mourn the loss of Brian, we choose to celebrate the beautiful moments he shared with us. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the smiles he created, and the kindness he showed. In our hearts, he will be remembered as a compassionate soul who faced adversity with strength and left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. We know Brian has finally found the peace he strived so hard for and is now surrounded by all his loved ones in Heaven. May his memory bring solace to those who mourn his absence.
