Joyce Sue Jackson, age 96, went to be with the Lord, on November 5th, 2026. She was born on September 10, 1930, in Knoxville and was a resident of Knoxville, Tennessee. Joyce was deeply rooted in her Baptist faith and was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Joyce was a loving mother and mamaw whose family was the center of her world. She dedicated 25 years of service as a Unit Secretary at UT Medical Center, where she made a lasting impression through her hard work and dedication.
Joyce had a love for adventure, especially when it meant making memories with her family. She found joy in the simple beauty of life, whether it was admiring the colorful fall leaves or playing in the snow. She had a true green thumb and could grow just about anything she planted. Her love for gardening was matched by her love of cooking, and nothing made her happier than preparing meals and bringing her family together around the table.
One of Joyce's greatest joys was rocking and cuddling the babies, a role she cherished with all her heart. Her warmth, love, and gentle spirit made everyone feel special.
Joyce will be remembered for her nurturing heart, her love of family, her adventurous spirit, and the countless memories she created with those she loved. Her love will continue to grow in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Joyce is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty years, Harold Jackson; parents, Floyd and Ossie Baker; brothers, Bill Baker and Floyd "Buster" Baker; son-in-law, Danny Crisp; and great grandson, Parker.
