Joyce "Mammaw" Asburry Gideon

GIDEON, JOYCE "MAMMAW" ASBURRY – age 83 of Powell, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2013 at her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Powell, an active member of The JOY Group and a long time Sunday school teacher. She was a retired registered nurse from Ft. Sanders Medical Center. Preceded in death by her husbands, James Asburry and Earl Gideon; daughter, Kathy Johnson; siblings, Frank and Bill Selvidge and Wanda Hendrix. Survived by son, Mike Asburry; daughters, Judy Judd Bagwell (Rick), Lisa Shaddix (Mark); grandchildren, Michelle Gaddis (Brent) Matthew Judd (Suzi), Adam Asburry (Marcinda), Jennifer Gonzalez ( Aaron) Josh Johnson (Kim), Michael Bagwell, Bethany Smith, Brittany Smith, Stormi Bagwell, Brandon Smith, Sam Shaddix, Haven Judd; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Selvidge (Jessie), Bobby Selvidge (Carol); sisters, Patsy Burrell, Gerry Roberts and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Friday, 5:00pm-7:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Powell with service to follow at 7:00 pm Rev. Phil Jones officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am on Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery for an 11:00 am interment. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Powell.
