Joyce McGinley

Joyce Turner McGinley (September 12, 1953-April 26, 2025), age 71 went to be with the Lord Saturday April 26. She was born in Monroe, MI, raised in Chicago, Il and moved to Knoxville with her family in her early 20's. Joyce was a devoted Christian and a long- time member of Bon View Baptist Church. She was a retired registered nurse who had worked for St. Mary's Regional Medical Center and the Knox County Health Dept. Joyce was preceded in death by parents, John and Irene Turner; loving husband of 33 years, William David McGinley (Red); brothers, John and Ralph Turner; sister, Gail Smith; and stepson, Jim McGinley. She is survived by son, William David McGinley Jr; daughter, Callie Irene McGinley; grandson, Maxton Ward; sister, Millie (Troy) Cheatham; sister-in-law, Marcy Turner; stepdaughter, Sue Ellis; stepson, Charlie (Linda) McGinley; several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday May 6, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Berry Highland South Funeral Home, 9010 E. Simpson Road. Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Rick Lemons officiating. Family and friends will meet Wednesday May 7, 2025 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery for a 12:30 p.m. committal.
